Overview of Railroad Sleeper
Railroad sleeper are the core components of the railway track system, and they bear the key functions of guiding trains, bearing wheel impact loads and transmitting them to rail sleepers. Their design must meet the requirements of high strength, wear resistance, fatigue resistance and corrosion resistance to ensure the stability and safety of train operation. Modern rails adopt an “H”-shaped cross-section structure, which consists of three parts: rail head, rail waist and rail bottom. The bending resistance is improved by optimizing the cross-section design, and it is adapted to the needs of different railroad track types.
Features of Railroad Sleeper
Material and process
High-strength alloy steel: U71Mn, U75V, rare earth rails and other materials are used, and the strength, toughness and wear resistance of the railway sleepers are improved through micro-alloying technology.
Heat treatment process: Supports quenching rails, offline heat treatment rails and other processes, significantly improving the tensile strength of the railway sleepers (up to 1300MPa) and extending the service life.
Structural innovation
H-shaped cross-section design: The rail head, rail waist and rail bottom are subjected to coordinated force to improve the bending resistance and reduce the risk of dynamic stress concentration.
Seamless technology: supports welding 100-meter fixed-length railway sleepers into 500-meter super-long rails, eliminates rail gaps, reduces train vibration and noise, and reduces maintenance costs.
Standardization and customization
Compatible with international standards: complies with international standards such as GB, EN and supports customized production of rail type, length and chemical composition.
Special application adaptation: provides special cross-section railway sleepers such as crane rails (QU70-QU120) and grooved rails to meet the needs of ports, mines and other scenarios

Function of Railroad Sleeper
Load transfer and dispersion
The rail head contacts the wheel, the rail waist transfers the load to the rail bottom, and the rail bottom and the sleeper work together to evenly disperse the pressure to the roadbed to ensure the stability of the track structure.
Dynamic performance optimization
Through high-strength materials and heat treatment processes, the fatigue cracks and wear of the railway sleepers are reduced to meet the operation requirements of heavy-load trains (axle weight 30-35 tons) and high-speed trains (above 300km/h).
Seamless and stability
Seamless rail technology eliminates rail joint impact, and with high-precision track plates (error ≤0.1mm), it significantly improves the smoothness and safety of train operation.
Environmental adaptability
Corrosion-resistant coatings and material optimization adapt to thermal expansion and contraction under extreme climatic conditions and extend the service life of railway sleepers.
Application of Railroad Sleeper
High-speed railways
Use 60kg/m and above rail sleeper, combined with ballastless track technology, to meet the operation requirements of 300-350km/h trains and reduce maintenance costs.
Heavy-duty freight railways
Use 75kg/m heavy-duty rail sleepers, suitable for 30-35 ton axle load trains, to increase capacity and reduce rail wear.
Urban rail transit
Subway and light rail systems use 50kg/m or 60kg/m rail sleepers, combined with elastic fastener systems to reduce vibration and noise and improve passenger comfort.
Industrial and special scenarios
Crane rails (QU70-QU120) are used in heavy-duty equipment such as ports and mines; grooved rail sleepers are used in tram systems to improve safety and aesthetics.

Yes, we can produce by your samples or technical drawings. We can build drawings for you after we get your samples too.
Q5: How do you do Quality Control before delivery?
A: Quality inspection is a very important factor to guarantee the quality of steel casting parts. We follow 3 times of inspection during the whole production process. And we will provide material testing report, dimensional testing report, and mechanical properties testing report to our clients before delivery.
